Codiacum varigatum ‘Gold Dust’ or ‘Twisted Fingers”
Codiaeum variegatum, also known as “Gold Dust,” “Twisted Fingers,” or “Croton” is one of the most vibrant, gorgeous tropical terrarium plants. It’s an evergreen that is native to Malaysia and other islands in the Western Pacific.
Ranging from elliptical to oval, the leaves of Codiaeum variegatum gold dust plants are an attractive, medium-green hue, with plenty of specks of yellow. The foliage colors of the mature plant depends on how much sunlight it receives.

Description
About Codiaeum Variegatum
To get the most color out of a Codiaeum variegatum gold dust plant, provide plenty of bright, indirect light. Direct light has a negative effect, bleaching the color out of the leaves. Reduced light causes the color to fade, leaving green leaves. The plants are generally not attractive when sheared. However, they can be carefully pruned by hand.
Propagation
These tropical terrarium plants are easy to propagate with stem cuttings. Use a rooting hormone to encourage healthy growth. Sometimes Codiaeum variegatum gold dust plants produce independent shoots called “sports”, which can be replanted.
