Water Lily Package

As members of the family Nymphaeaceae, water lilies are tropical flowers that root in underwater soil, then grow until their prized blooms break the water surface. The star-shaped blossoms appear to float and produce a variety of colors, including pink, white, purple, and blue. Some species feature leaves with beautiful gradients of these hues.

Water lilies are one of the most popular tropical flowers for many aquascapers. This is why we supply water lily bulbs that are perfect for planting in both aquariums and ornamental ponds, where koi float leisurely in tepid water during the warm season.

Ideal First Flowers

The success of raising water lilies outdoors depends on the “hardiness zone” where you plant them, as established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). However, it’s easier to cultivate a water lily in an aquarium where growing conditions are easier to monitor. This makes the flowers an excellent choice for beginners.

The process of raising a hardy water lily is straightforward: water lily bulbs are planted underwater, then send up stems with rounded leaves. Once stems reach the surface, star-shaped blossoms emerge.

Multi Bulb Package

Multiple water lily bulbs are often planted in a single aquarium to produce enough blossoms to cover the water surface. Once planted, bulbs take between one and two seasons to mature, but the striking blooms are worth the wait. As with all of our aquatic plants, these water lily bulbs are free of pathogens, diseases, and pests so that nothing impedes cultivation.
