Aquatic Tissue Culture Plants
Tissue culture plants are propagated in sterile packages where they grow in non-toxic, germ- and pest-free environments. Complete Aquatic Systems owns and operates our own tissue culture lab thus giving us total control over the varieties and quantities produced. Another benefit to having our own lab is that we don't have any middlemen to deal with.
Rotala Rotundifolia Blood Red
Rоtаlа rotundifolia, also known as “dwarf rotala”, is a classic, ornamental aquarium plant. The gorgeous Rotala rotundifolia blood red hue is highly recognizable, adding a wonderful splash of color to your tank. This plant is a perennial, with dark pink stems that form low, creeping clumps. The tips of the stems have spikes that flower. When young, the plant is green. It transforms to red with age and intense lighting.
Many experienced aquarists have rotala rotundifolia red plants in their tanks at some point. The flora is fairly easy to cultivate and maintain, and it provides an attractive growth pattern and distinctive hue.

About Rоtаlа Rotundifolia
Rotala rotundifolia blood red plants are typical, fast-growing stem plants. They can be pruned heavily and frequently. If you let them grow to the surface, they may eventually turn downward, creating a desirable cascading effect.
The plant’s color depends largely on its lighting and nutrients. Less light and nutrients results in a yellow-green color; more light and nutrients results in a pinkish red hue. To cultivate an intense red color, keep nitrates below 5 ppm and phosphates above 1 ppm.
To propagate rotala rotundifolia red plants, snip cuttings from the upper stem with a sharp pair of scissors, and plant them in the substrate. The plant should take root quickly. Uproot and replant stem tops regularly to keep the plant looking its best.
